Liverpool in Texas is relatively young with a date of founding of 1837. The city is located south of Houston in Brazoria County and not far from Galveston on the gulf coast.

This Liverpool has a bayou rather than a river. The city was named by a Commodore Thomas C Nelson who was from England. Liverpool was then a shipping point for Chocolate Bayou. Chocolate Bayou really does look like a river of chocolate and this is due to the color of the soils. The bayou heads out to Chocolate Bay.
