The Cunard Building at the Pier Head [Photo: Ron P Smith]The Cunard Building was the third of a trio to be built at Liverpool's famous Pier Head. It was built as the offices of the Cunard Steamship Company.

Construction of the building started in 1914 after the Royal Liver Building had been completed and it was completed in 1916. In 1969, the building was bought from Cunard by Prudential for 2,750,000 pounds.
