Orrell Park station now forms part of the Merseyrail "Northern Line" service. It is situated on branch to Ormskirk between Walton and Aintree stations.
The photo on the right shows the exterior of the station in British Rail days.
Orrell Park was originally part of the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway. This line had opened on the 2nd of April 1849 with the station itself opening only in 1906.
