Huyton Quarry station was located on the route of the Liverpool and Manchester Railway between Huyton and Rainhill on what is now Merseyrail's "City Line". The original name was "The Bottom of Whiston Lane" but it was renamed Huyton Quarry shortly after 1838. The station was closed on the 15th of September 1958 and exactly 128 years since it had opened in 1830.

The photo on the right shows a train headed by class 40 locomotive number 40074, travelling towards Rainhill through the site of the station in December 1976.
