Heswall station is located on the Wirral on the rail line running between Wrexham Central and Bidston which is operated by Arriva Trains Wales. At Bidston a connection is made with Merseyrail's Wirral Line along the leg between Birkenhead and West Kirby.

Heswall station is north of Neston and south of Upton and the photo shows the station looking north. Unlike the Merseyrail services, this line is not electrified and uses diesel multiple unit trains.
