There are numerous Furbys in Canada at similar levels to the other English speaking countries and France. Charles Walter Furby was born about 1870 at Bayham, Ontario. What's most interesting in Canada is that there are several instances where Furbys have left their mark in the form of places/street names.
Manitoba There is a Furby Street in Winnipeg, Manitoba. I believe, from a Canadian Furby, that the story originates with a John Erwin Moss Firby. In the 1880's the city of Winnipeg was trying to raise money and for five dollars anyone could name a street. John paid his money to name a little country road into the city but the name was misspelled "Furby"! Furby Street is now a well known street in Winnipeg.
Newfoundland
There is a small fishing settlement named Furby's Cove. Recorded in 1871, the populaton was 50 and it is situated on the east side of Hermitage Bay in the district of Fortune Bay. There is also a Furby's Point. In 1857, Morgan Buffett (born 1834) married Ester A Hare there.
